The “Stalking Scout”! This year"s camp will focus on the Sullivan-Clinton march down the Susquehanna River during the Revolutionary War. The wilderness was a daunting environment; General Sullivan did not want to risk letting his troops wander too far from the river. A small group of Native Americans and Patriots became his scouts. Scouting skills are very different from the skills used in combat. Scouts had to be “invisible,” make keen observations, and return to General Clinton with vital information about the enemy. Each participant will develop the skills and equipment necessary to become a “stalking scout.” The week"s activities will culminate in a genuine session of stalking “enemy troops.”
